SO2 Gas Cyclic Salt Fog Corrosion Spray Chamber

Combined Salt Fog, SO2 Gas, Temperature, and Humidity Corrosion Testing

The LIB Industry SO2 Gas Cyclic Salt Fog Corrosion Spray Chamber combines salt fog, sulfur dioxide gas, temperature, and humidity control in one integrated testing system. It is designed to simulate complex corrosive environments found in coastal, industrial, automotive, and polluted conditions. The chamber supports salt fog and SO2 gas exposure, high-humidity conditioning, controlled temperature, and programmable cyclic corrosion sequences.

By combining multiple environmental factors within a single test chamber, it enables more comprehensive evaluation of corrosion resistance and durability for metals, coatings, plastics, automotive components, electrical parts, and other materials while reducing specimen transfer between separate testing systems.

Key Features

1. Integrated Salt Fog and SO2 Gas Testing

The chamber integrates salt fog generation and controlled SO2 gas introduction within one test space. Users can configure individual or combined exposure conditions according to their test requirements, making the system suitable for both conventional corrosion testing and more complex cyclic protocols.

2. Programmable Cyclic Corrosion Testing

Different corrosion stages can be arranged into programmed sequences, including salt fog, SO2 exposure, humidity conditioning, and other environmental stages. The controller supports up to 120 programmable profiles and sequences with up to 100 steps, allowing users to reproduce customized test procedures. A typical customized sequence may include:

Salt Fog → Humidity → SO2 Exposure → Conditioning → Repeat

3. Corrosion-Resistant Chamber Construction

The working chamber uses glass-fiber reinforced plastic (FRP) to withstand prolonged exposure to salt, SO2, moisture, and other corrosive conditions. The external structure uses coated A3 steel for mechanical strength and long-term durability.

4. Uniform Salt Fog Distribution

An adjustable spray tower, quartz spray nozzles, and continuously stirred salt solution help maintain consistent salt fog generation. The system achieves a typical salt deposition rate of 1–2 ml/80 cm²·h, supporting repeatable specimen exposure.

5. SO2 Exhaust and Safety Protection

Because SO2 is a corrosive and hazardous gas, the chamber incorporates a dedicated exhaust and gas-treatment system. Safety functions such as over-temperature protection, water shortage detection, over-current protection, dry-heating protection, and door locking help reduce operational risks.
