The SAE J2334 Cyclic Corrosion Chamber is an advanced automotive corrosion testing system designed to evaluate the durability of metals, coatings, fasteners, and vehicle components under realistic road salt and humid environments. Unlike traditional NSS testing, SAE J2334 uses cyclic salt spray, humidity, drying, and temperature control to better simulate real-world corrosion conditions. 

The system features a temperature range up to +90°C, programmable cyclic control, atomized salt spray distribution, and chamber capacities from 780L to 1800L or bigger test space. With precise closed-loop environmental control, it is widely used by automotive OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers for accelerated corrosion validation and material reliability testing.

1. High-Rate Environmental Transition System

SAE J2334 requires rapid and repeatable environmental changes within a defined cycle.

The system integrates independent forced-air drying module and high-response steam humidification system

Enabling:

  • Rapid transition from 100% RH to 50% RH within approximately 30 minutes

  • Stable cyclic repetition without drift

  • Accurate reproduction of SAE J2334 environmental curves

  • High-strength fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) material, one-time molding with high thermal stability .

Standard Cycle Structure

Wet Phase:
50±2°C, 100% RH, duration: 6 hours

Salt Deposition Phase:
Controlled salt application simulating road de-icing exposure, ~15 minutes

Drying Phase:
60±2°C, 50±5% RH, duration: 17 hours 45 minutes

The system also supports customized OEM-specific corrosion cycles, including protocols from Ford, GM, Volvo, and other automotive manufacturers.
